The MOBILE WEB series of events
– en route to West Africa

all amber (www.allamber.co.uk), is a UK based conference company which is leading an initiative focusing on the development of the Mobile Web in Africa by organising a series of conferences on the topic.  To date Mobile Web Africa (www.mobilewebafrica.com - Johannesburg, South Africa - October 2009) and Mobile Web East Africa (www.mobileeastafrica.com - Nairobi, Kenya - February 2010) have been run with the second annual Mobile Web Africa set to take place in September 2010 again in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The conferences that all amber has organised and will continue to organise not only mirror the industry sector which it specialises in, as they are innovative and progressive in their nature, but are founded on the basis of over 10 years of international events experience, a strong pedigree ICT research and an anthropological outlook.

The conferences bring together the leading stakeholders in the mobile ecosystem to learn, network and share experiences with the aim that the potential of the mobile internet and mobile applications can be truly harnessed.  It is the belief of all amber that the combination of the mobile phone and the World Wide Web represents a fantastic opportunity for African consumers.   For that potential to be realised Operators, OEM’s, Publishers, Developers, Traditional and New Media, the Creative Industries, Developmental Organisations, Design Agencies, Social Networking Specialists, Application Stores and Technology Start-Ups need to work collectively to provide content and services so that the expansion of the ecosystem can continue to evolve.

To enable this expansion and provide a balanced forum a certain percentage of the places at each event are available at subsidised rates to Mobile Start Up Companies, Mobile Developers, and Not-For-Profit Organisations therefore allowing true sector wide representation to be achieved.   This means that individuals and organisations who cannot normally afford to go to high level conferences can attend and this has proven to enrich the whole feel of the events.

To create the right business environment all amber utilise only the very best venues and places a great deal of care and attention to creating the right conditions for the conference.   Detailed research is combined with over a decade’s worth of event experience to create finely tuned agendas, which feature the leading lights of the mobile sector - from the Opening Address to the final Panel Discussion.

Furthermore the delegation doesn’t sit in the traditional rows of seats style which stifles discussions and networking.  Instead an interactive roundtable format is used, whereby all attendees are sat next to and facing each other and are actively encouraged to interact with one another.

The end-result is a fantastic on-the-day experience for each individual at every event with considerably improved outputs.  Attendees go back to their offices with new contacts, better cemented relationships, enhanced knowledge and information and a far greater understanding of the issues and solutions available.  These statements are substantiated by the results of the attendee surveys taken at each event whereby:

97.5% of attendees rate all amber events as ‘Excellent’, ‘Very Good’ or ‘Good’.   With only 1% of the attendees rating the conference as ‘Fair’ and only 1.5% as ‘Poor’.
- When asked about their experience at the all amber event 95.5% of attendees say that it ‘Fulfilled’ or ‘Fulfilled By Far’ their expectations, with 3.5% commenting that it ‘Didn’t Really’ and just 1% saying that it ‘Did Not’.
- When asked how the all amber event compared to others they have attended 76.5% rated it as “Better” or “Much Better”, 18.5% as “About The Same”, whilst 5% listed it as “Nothing Special” with not a single attendee saying that it was worse than others they have attended.

Mobile Web West Africa

all amber is excited about bringing the Mobile Web initiative to West Africa and Nigeria more specifically as the mobile powerhouse in the region in early 2011.  There’s no doubt that the subject area is of huge importance, which can only multiply in the future, and that when this is combined with the professional and interactive style of event that all amber specialises in Mobile Web West Africa is going to be a fantastic 2 days.   Therefore, and if you’ve got to the bottom of this page you really should do, please get in contact and register your interest in the conference by using the form available here or emailing info@allamber.co.uk.
